  • Maureen Fura, MPA, CEO & Founder

    Maureen has spent the last 12 years building key relationships with policymakers, advocates, leaders, survivors, scientists, researchers, providers, and families to close the gaps in MMH care. She is the Writer and Director of Dark Side of the Full Moon documentary, exposing the gaps in care in the US. She was a founding member of the National Coalition for Maternal Mental Health. She spearheaded the first National Awareness Campaign for MMH for four years. She was a founding member of Postpartum Support International (PSI) Miami (now Postpartum Support International Florida Chapter). She is a PSI coordinator and PSI Support Group Leader. Maureen was the recipient of the Advocate of the Year in 2017 from 2020 Mom and the Florida Champion in MMH from the Florida Collaborative of Maternal Mental Health in 2020.

  • Lynne McIntyre, LCSW, Chief Maternal Mental Health Advisor

    Lynne is a reproductive mental health specialist and clinical social worker and was the founding manager of the Maternal Mental Health Program at Mary’s Center, a federally qualified health center in Washington, DC. She also co-founded the National Coalition for Maternal Mental Health (now the Blue Dot Project) and the DC Metro Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative. Lynne served as the DC coordinator for Postpartum Support International for eight years, as well as on the Advisory Board of the DC Collaborative for Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care. Lynne has published academic and popular media articles on perinatal mental health and has been a guest on the Diane Rehm Show and 1A on National Public Radio and Línea Directa on Telemundo, in addition to various other programs.

  • Aviril Sepulveda, OTD, OTR/L, BCP, SCFES, IBCLC, Growth Strategy Officer

    Aviril is a board-certified pediatric occupational therapist working in the field for over 20 years. She was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar from 2016 to 2019, where she is part of a multi-disciplinary team that addresses mental health disparities among Filipino immigrants in Los Angeles. She has her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California, her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University. Aviril works with babies with complex medical issues, including babies discharged from the NICU. Aviril’s specialties include occupational therapy interventions for infant development and feeding, maternal-infant mental health, and program development. Through her past work with 2020 Mom as Board Chair and Board Member, Aviril had curated convenings of multi-sector stakeholders in maternal mental health, including public health, health systems, practitioners, insurers, community-based organizations, and researchers in conversations addressing gaps in maternal mental health care.

  • Desirée L. Israel, LCSW-C, LICSW, LCSW Mental Health Partnership Strategist

    Desirée L. Israel is an accomplished and results-driven reproductive mental health leader with a legacy of empowering individuals and families with the resources to succeed. Devoted to liberating birthing people and families by using African-centered modalities, Desirée uses ancestral wisdom coupled with evidence-based modes of healing to achieve holistic wellness.

  • Mara Watts, LPC

    Mara Watts is a Licensed counselor located in Burke, VA. She is the Director of Outreach and Education for Postpartum Support Virginia which focuses on providing resources for all families in the state and educating practitioners about Perinatal Mood and anxiety disorders. She has advanced degrees from the University of Colorado and George Mason University. Mara's treats clients through private practice using CBT, narrative and mindfulness based therapies. Her focus continues to be on developing ways to educate, screen and treat birthing persons and their families. She lives in Burke, VA with her husband and two daughters.
